Lonely Planet review for Oriental City

This huge Hong Kong-style restaurant with the requisite red lanterns is always lively. Join gaggles of local Chinese for daily dim sum (11:30 to 16:30; we like the meaty, flavoursome cha sieuw bao pork buns) and a 24-page menu (!) of classic Canto cuisine.

One of the best in town

    thomaswamsteker recommends this,

Oriental City is truly one of the best dim sum restaurants, not only in Amsterdam, but in the Netherlands as well. The service is good, and so is the food.

    Best Dim Sum in Amsterdam

    csf1 recommends this,

We go here at least once a month for the Dim Sum at lunchtime. Booking is not necessary, but you may have to wait for up to an hour for a table, longer for larger groups. Remember, though, that booking doesn't always guarantee a table - they have lost our booking more than once!
The food is fantastic, the service great, and the price good. Expect to pay around EUR30 for 2 people, including drinks. You can order more, they will doggy-bag it for you.
