Lonely Planet review

This ultrastylish building used to be a hotel for migrants back in 1921, and many of the original fixtures still exist, combined with triumphs of more contemporary Dutch design. The result is a combination hotel, cultural centre and local gathering place. One-star (bathroom down the hall) to five-star (plush and racquetball-court-sized) rooms are so one-of-a-kind (industrial singles, bathtub in the centre, fold-away bathrooms, a giant bed for eight…) that they'll even impress travellers who think they've seen it all.
