Take the elevator to the 7th floor for this restaurant-bar-club. It's edgy and improvisational, and is the social centre for all the artists with studios in the building (the former Volkskrant newspaper office). The sweet views are heightened by the creative cocktails (say, a lemongrass martini or Japanese gin fizz). Music is varied, from vintage voodoo to hippy psychedelic to funk.
At the time of writing it was being renovated and expanded, so expect even more hipness. The Wibautstraat metro stop is a stone's throw away; follow signs saying 'Gijsbrecht van Aemstelstraat' as you exit the station.
