Lonely Planet review for Stinasu

Most of Suriname's exemplary system of national parks and reserves is accessible via Parbo-based tour operators. Stinasu, the Foundation for Nature Conservation in Suriname, donates a percentage of all trip proceeds to nature conservation. It coordinates research and ecotourism expeditions, runs excellent guided trips to Brownsberg, Galibi, Raleighvallen/Voltzberg/Foengoe Island (four days) and Coppename (one day).

Warappa Creek Brilliant Tour led by our guide 'Joke'.

    sailorsue recommends this,

We took a tour with waterproofsuriname.com , part of Stinasu. 40 minute bus to Frederiksdorp, boat to Alliance for local lunch and tour of old Plantation, then on to Warrappa creek and the beach to see Red Ibis etc.
We also visitied Brownsberg Nature Park on the Brokopondo Lake. This took 3 hours with a 4-wheel drive, high up to the Brownsberg Plateau, in the heart of the rainforest we then hiked over 2 days. Accomadation was self catering basic and clean.
Birkendahl another trip with activities, Ziplining, canoeing ,walking, swimming etc.
    Jodensavannah, a jewish settlement.
Blackwater Creek another area for chilling out Suramanise people love to spend the weekend at a resort. Most have shelter from sun/rain a place to BBQ and water to play in.
Our base for the country was our Yacht 'Piano' which we anchored up river at Domberg.
