Lonely Planet review
This small place, equally well-known as hotel and restaurant, has acceptable rooms in a stunning, beach-front location. Hidden behind a small hill off Atlantic Rd, this calm and cosy guesthouse overlooks the ocean from one of the best locations anywhere on the coast.
The beach stays fairly calm here and is astoundingly beautiful, making the hotel's reasonable rates all the more surprising. Or maybe not. Accommodation is variable, with some fairly grotty places and more upmarket self-catering ones, but none of them are particularly inviting. If you take your holiday-body to laze at the beach, you can't beat this location as better beachfront value simply doesn't exist on this part of the Gambian coast.
Our independent authors have visited Leybato and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Serekunda & the Atlantic Coast.
