Help! I am completely overwhelmed trying to figure out which island my fiancé and I should visit!
Here are the details -
We'd like to visit over Thanksgiving and stay for a week
We don't want a big resorts or anywhere too touristy
We both like to dive and eat
We don't want to have a rental car
We don't need fancy food or shopping
We don't mind island hopping (i.e. Ferries)
An ideal vacation would be beach time, water time, maybe a hike or boat tour of some sort, local food and fun…
I'm planning to visit Nassau this November. I want to know if my U.S phone number would work there especially if I can still surf the internet with my phone there. How's the price in Nassau? Do I need to bring cash with me? If yes, how much would be appropriate? Also, any recommendation for food? Thank you guys!
Hello! My hubby are going to be in the bahamas for a few days in late December. The hotel choices all seem to have awful reviews. Anyone know a gem on the grand bahama island. We can spend up to $300 . Beach front not all inclusive. Simple is fine.
Thanks for any tips!
I'm planning a trip to The Bahamas and I will not be staying in any hotels or hostels, no campsites either. Before ANYBODY wants to criticize me, I already know that camping is technically illegal in the Bahamas. I am looking for anybody who has back packed through the bahamas, do the police regularly patrolling the backwoods? Are there really much of any backwoods in most of the islands? How much trouble in general would I get in?
If you are staying a few days at Georgetown and draw less than 8 foot, go on around to Redshanks anchorage and enjoy the quiet. Only five minutes by dingy to the town docks and good protection from most wind and swell.

Where are good places to go to the beach on Paradise Island? I am not staying at a Paradise Island Hotel. Is there a recommended entryway to a good beach? I prefer flatter ocean without waves area. Is there a place where they rent beach chairs and umbrellas? How much is it for 2 chairs and 1 umbrella? Any suggestions, for streets to get dropped off at, walkways to enter, good swimming bays, etc....
We are a young couple from Denmark planning on going to Bahamas in October 2015 for two weeks.
Because we've never been there before, or know anybody that has, we don't know ANYTHING about it.
So... Where would you recommend we stay, which area? We are looking for a safe place, a place with quite bounty beaches, not too touristy, but still with some restaurants to go out at night.
Kind regards, Emil and Cille
We will be in Nassau for only 6 hours! Everything is on a very tight budget so most excursions are out. So I was wondering if anyone could recommend a few great bars on the beach where we can hang out or if anyone had ideas for some local shops to visit? I don't really like the big touristy stuff where you can find the same thing everywhere so I was hoping for a little local flavor. Plus I am assuming the local bars and shops will be more affordable. Any recommendations are welcome!
