A few sǎwngthǎew run between Ban Chiang and Udon (35B, one hour) each morning before 10am. In Udon, catch them on Th Pho Si southwest of the old bus terminal. In Ban Chiang, they stop in front of the museum. Alternatively, take a bus bound for Sakon Nakhon or Nakhon Phanom and get off at the Ban Pulu (45B, one hour) turn-off, a 15-minute sǎamláw ride (per person 50B) from Ban Chiang.
