This will be our first visit to Thailand. I heard of the South area as places to vacation, (we mostly want beaches/ villas/ or rent a home. Looking at Pattaya, Hua Hin or more south of Ko Samui, Phuket, Krabi or more? We like beautiful ocean/safe, close to local markets and restaurants

Hi all. It's been a long while since I had to turn to this community for help...mainly because my girlfriend is more a fan of package holidays than 'the unexpected'. In attempt to turn her I'm breaking her in slowly and we're off to Phuket later this year. I've been to Thailand several times before but never Phuket and was amazed at the amount of accommodation options. I'm therefore keen to tap into the community for suggestions on good areas/neighbours to focus our search on.

*Neither of us…

Hey there,
me and my wife (36, 35 years old) are heading to Thailand on July 25th for 10 days.
We want to take a very quiet break from Kathmandu, where we live, so we don´t want to travel around...
We just want to go to a quiet and beautiful beach, if possible to a cabin or bungalow by the beach, relax and eat lots of fruit.
We were adviced to go to Koh Tao, so apparently that´s where we´ll go, except someone has a better advice!!!
And also in Koh Tao we still don´t know exactly which beach will…

We are a family of 4 traveling for 6 weeks to Asia. My boys (6 and 8) have never been and I was wondering where is the best place to introduce them for the first week - North Thailand (BKK and Chiang Mai) or Bali(or other suggestions!)? I'm torn because we will be landing in HK and BKK is closer(flying standby so I haven't got tickets yet)and less flight time for the kids - but Thailand is in rainy season right?
I've heard Bali has better weather in July and is a lot packed into a small chilled…

Hi I'm Racheal and I'm 24. I will be flying out to Bangkok on 1st August until 21st of August and would love to meet up with people to travel with. I have 3 internal flights booked to help me see as much of Thailand as possible but may cancel these depending on what others are doing. Hate the thought of going alone. Down to earth, bubbly girl looking to have a BLAST!

Hi All,
I am heading to Thailand in a few weeks and wanted the most up to date recommendations for places to stay on a budget. I will be traveling to Bangkok, Ko Pha Ngan, and Chiang Mai. If you've been to Thailand in the last year and have had great experiencesor places to avoid I would really appreciate it! I am trying to spend no more than $25US a night or 875Baht. Also, do cheap bungalows come with mosquito nets or do I need to pick one up? I have a list from the lonely planet 2014 book…

Hi All,

I'm heading to Thailand on Boxing Day from London for 4 weeks. All I know is that I'm flying to Bangkok and flying back from Phuket. I'll be at Kho Panghan for NYE and also probably for the full moon party. In between then I want to head up to Chiang Mai as well as check out other Islands. Anyone going to be around then? Interested in meeting like minded peeps on here as well as meeting when out and about in Thailand!

Cheers :)

Koh Tarutao

Hi, heading to Thailand on Xmas day. Am thinking of heading straight to Koh Tarutao to chill out, as that sounds like my kind of place. I love nature, but I had an unfortunate incident elsewhere with sand fleas many many years ago that still plagues my memory, and I hear they have a problem with them on the island - so it's definitely putting me off, which is annoying!. I will, for sure, want to sunbathe for a few days....:( Does anyone know if Adang also has this problem also?

I spent alot of…
