I've been looking at goabroad.com for volunteer work and shocked to the fees for some of the projects. Why do I have to pay soo much? Would be good if you fellow members have any suggestions of places I could do Volunteer work in Hua Hin and around Thailand that aren't more than $500USD for longer than a month, or even better – nothing at all.
I'm interested in: Stray dog rescue; Art; building homes; basically anything to help the greater Thai community.

It would be really fun and interesting to see a snapshot of peoples' posts on this site from 10-20 years ago. We are going to spend 20 days in Thailand in September with our child, four years old.
Last year, we went to Koh Samui for ist good location, everything was very near, local restaurant, good beach and the weather.
So, someone could recommend us a similar place to go.
And any hotel with bungalows next to the beach but not expensive.
