Hi, we are a couple planning 4 nights stay in phuket just to relax and to be away from the regular city buzz. We are planning to fly to Phuket and will book our stay in the coconut village resort in Patong area.

  1. What's the best way to reach our hotel from Phuket airport? Will i get shared mini vans at the airport or would i need to hire a cab? What would be the average cost for two?

  2. We plan to take ferry to Phi Phi island from Rassanda pier. Should i ask for a paid shuttle…

I am struggling to find somewhere affordable with a pool (have kids!) on Kai Bae Beach at Christmas time. I have found a family room available at Siam Bay resort. According to maps, this is at the southern most tip of Kai Bae. Is this totally out of the way of any life ie shops, restaurants etc. I am reading mixed reviews as to weather you are isolated here with not a lot around you or...weather it is easily walkable to the busier central/northern area of Kai Bae. Any help with this greatly…

PLEASE NOTE: although i am a professional videographer this is not a commercial proposition and i will not accept any cash payment, so please do not contact me unless you are looking for a mutually beneficial co-operation not involving money!

hello wise people of TT -
we are planning a trip to Thailand next summer with our kids (ages 7 and 4 by then) - it will be our 9th trip there but we have never been in July/August. Unfortunately we have to go then, because of school holidays. From my research, it seems like Ko Samui/Ko Phangan/Ko Tao will be our best shot weather-wise. But we have been there a few times already and would prefer somewhere new, or at least 1 or 2 new beaches or islands. We've been to Ko Lanta, Krabi, Railay, Khao…

Hello. Can anyone recommend somewhere low key/off the beaten track in Thailand where there is good snorkelling off the beach please? The busy resorts are not really to my taste. Thanks for your help.

Hello,
I am travelling to Thailand on the 24th October (4 weeks)and flying back home 8 weeks later. I have planned to travel to Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos also and I am applying for the Multiple Entry Visa... but I think my understanding of the requirements is wrong, and the consular office has told me that as I don't have a balance of £5000, which needs to have been sitting in my account for 6 months, I'm not eligible. That seems like a big ask to me, no?
Has anyone else had this problem before?

Hi all,

I am currently planning to go to Koh Lipe from the 8th of October for a week. I will be flying from KL and found that the trip is somewhat complicated and time critical and I was wondering if someone might know of a better route that coincide with flight times and ferries available? Flying to Hat Yai from KL would mean I need a overnight stay there since there are only flights once a day and the bus and ferry only run in the morning from Hat Yai, so not really something I would like to…
