Ao Wai is a lovely beach far removed from everything else (though in reality it is only 2km from Ao Thian).
Ao Hin Khok & Ao Phai
Less frenetic than their northern neighbour of Hat Sai Kaew, Ao Hin Khok and Ao Phai are two gorgeous bays separated by rocky headlands....
Ao Wong Deuan
Ao Wong Deuan, meaning 'crescent moon bay', is Samet's second-busiest beach, with a range of resorts and more modest guesthouses.
A good spot for after-dark beach-gazing, with a fun crowd and strong cocktails.
Appropriately named: you can dine on a wide range of seafood right on Ao Phai's pretty beach. There's some Western food on the menu too.
Ao Thian information
Ao Thian, or 'Candlelight Beach', is punctuated by big boulders that shelter small sandy spots, creating a castaway ambience. It remains one of Samet’s most easy-going beaches and is deliciously lonely on weekdays. On weekends, Bangkok university students serenade the stars with all-night guitar sessions.
