In December I will be in Thailand for a couple of weeks. While staying in Bangkok for a few days before heading down to Phuket, I want to explore a bit of the surrounding area. Among other things, I'm planning a day trip to Ayutthaya and the Bang Pa-In Palace. According to my plan, the trip to Ayutthaya will be on the King's Birthday on December 5.
Will the Bang Pa-In Palace be closed on this day? Unfortunately I can't seem to find any official information on this. Will the…
I'm travelling from Thailand into Laos in September this year. Can someone confirm that I don't need a visa for Laos beforehand as this is available at the border? Also is the cost $45 Australian? And should this be in cash? I'm planning to cross at Chiang Khong/Huay Xai. I will be travelling alone, is this a straightforward border crossing? Thanks in advance
I have booked a trip to Thailand later this year for November 24th-December 18th. This will be my first time to Thailand. I am planning on booking most of my accommodations in hostels as I will be travelling solo.
I am not interested in the Full Moon parties, so my plan is to start south (probably around Phuket/Krabi) and work my way north to Chiang Mai. From what I have read this is kind of opposite with a lot of the tourist traffic during this period. I typically like to book my…

I'm flying into Bangkok on 20th September but just wondering how it stands with a Thai visa. I'm looking to go into Laos, Vietnam & Cambodia too. Is it just a 30 day visa? If I go out of Thailand & re-enter do I then get another 30days? Any help is much appreciated :)
Somebody alluded to the absolutely crappy useless Thai Visa in another thread a few days ago. They mentioned big mango ( I think) and I have heard of Teak Door. Since Thai Visa are blocking any free discussion of the Surinder Singh route since the UK vote to leave the EU where is the best place to ask about visa issues for Thais to the UK. Preferably a site that doesn't impose censorship.
I am getting married at the end of march and my soon to be wife and I plan to go to Thailand for 2 weeks afterwards and are wondering which month is better April or May and where should we go? I have done some homework and we are thinking Bangkok for 1 night then fly up to Chiang Mai (zipline)/Pai (elephant rides) and stay for a 3-4 days and then fly down the islands and relax for 3-4 days then end our trip in Bangkok before we fly out. We are open to suggestions but that is our rough…
I'm flying from Auckland to Amsterdam next week and I'll have a stopover of approximately 10 hours in Bangkok. I'll arrive at 4pm and I'll leave again at 1:50 am. Would you recommend to get out of the airport and see a little of the town or is it not very recommendable regarding traffic and time..? In the case you should recommend it, are there any highlights I need to see in Bangkok?
