Central Market
Just north of the palace, this day market is a great place to pick up kài thâwt (fried chicken) or kài yâang (roast chicken) with sticky rice; hàw mòk (soufflé-like fish and coconut curry steamed in banana leaves); klûay khàek (Indian-style fried bananas); and a wide selection of fruit, satays, khâo krìap (crispy rice cakes), thâwt man plaa (fried fish cakes) and other delights. In the centre of the market is a vegetarian pavilion.
