From the Ridiculous to the Sublime – Zazen Boutique Resort and Spa on Koh Samui Delights
Blog: Hole In The Donut - 1 April 2011
On the day I departed from The Sanctuary Resort on Koh Pha Ngan, the seas were again too heavy for the Koh Samui ferry to pick guests up from the beach, so we climbed into an inflatable rubber boat for the short ride to the larger boat, waiting out in the bay. As if serving [...]

The sea was a shade of aqua blue, the sand pale pearly white and the surrounding foliage a blanket of emerald green. There was silence except for the sound of the lapping waves.

Thailand, Place of Poop and Jasmine
Blog: Uncommontravel - 16 January 2010
Here’s what I told my daughter about Thailand. It smells of jasmine, I said. Dreamily. Mom, she said, three months later when we met at her uncle’s expat compound in Bangkok, “It smells of poop”. She was young and backpacking on a budget a tiny almost imperceptible percentage of ours.

Things to do in and around Koh Samui
Blog: Matthew's Travel Blog - My thoughts on everything - 8 January 2010
For many more locations and photos visit www.matthewt.co.ukKoh Samui is only behind Phuket in terms of popularity and visitor numbers for Thai resorts. And there is good reason for that, despite years of chronic over-development the island retains much of its natural beauty and picture postcard beaches. Travel to and from the island is easy with regular international and domestic flights direct to the island as well as regular ferry crossings from Surat Thani.
