Buri Rasa looks like something from a glossy book on modern Asian interior design. True to its name, the resort feels like a small village, with raised wooden villas set in their own small gardens and an elegant beachside with massage pavilions and a jet-black granite pool.
Design is the name of the game here, so expect lamps made from bird cages and lots of bare wood, flowing fabrics and polished stone. Rooms are contained in private villas in their own little gardens so there's a strong sense of privacy and personal space. Inside you'll find lots of lush Thai silks and tasteful hardwood furniture, along with all the expected mod cons. The beachfront is tasteful and understated, with free-standing massage pavilions, neatly-trimmed lawns and that stylish Zen-style black stone pool. The grounds are full of bird-of-paradise flowers and the village mood is reinforced by water jars with coconut shell pourers to wash the sand off your feet in front of every villa.
