NEW VISA CHANGES THREAD

At a glance the changes that have occurred since the original summary are that -

Non visa entry by land or air can now be extended for 30 days for 1900 baht.
Its still the case that G7 passport holders get 30 days when entering by land whereas many other nationalities only get 15 days if they come by land border.
Authorities announced in August / September 2014 that they reserve the right to restrict the number of border runs those without visas can do. But not much evidence of this being…

What is the best way to fly from Bangkok to Delhi?

Hey there,

I am wanting to visit Northern India (Dheradun) at the end of March but will be flying out of Bangkok. What do you think would be the fastest and cheapest way to get there? Should I buy my ticket before I go or just buy it there?

Thanks!

Looking for Beauty, rest, and a little adventure in Thailand

I am flying into Bangkok and am looking to leave the big city and spend time resting somewhere beautiful. Because I have a short amount of time (1 week - maybe 2 if I don't end up spending a week in India)I don't mind flying to wherever I will end up for the week

What is the most efficient and least expensive way to get around in Thailand?

Where would you go to rest for a week? (I am not a fan of resort type places - more chillin' with the locals)

Thanks so much!

Thailand mid-December

Hi

I continue to plan my mid-December Thailand one-week vacation.
I want the first half to be active (bicycle/kayaking, nightlife, boxing/lady boy shows) and the second half more relaxed (good hotel, large pool, on the beach line).

Initially I planned for Samui + Ko Pha Ngan but some say that in mid-December the weather can be a factor in those areas (is it true?). Now I consider some combination of Bangkok or Phuket and a quiet island. I believe Bangkok will have the best shows/nightlife.…

I read and been given mixed information about timing for buses, border crossing etc. So - whats the time for Chiang Mai to Mae Sot, and then Mae Sot to Mawlamyine? Thanks

Wat Rong Khun condition

I'm about to go to Thailand and have been trying to figure out whether the White Temple is still worth a visit, or if it is too heavily damaged to justify the drive to Chiang Rai. I've seen a lot of conflicting information; some things make it seem like the external damage is minimal, others seem to say that the entire decor was ruined. Can anyone shed some light for me??

One week in Thailand

Hi

I am traveling to Thailand for a week in December. Which destination should I choose?

I am looking for the following:

relax near the pool / beach of a high scale hotel sport activities (kayaking, bicycle, jet ski). In a safe place, with a low risk of scams. good massages see a boxing / lady boy / cabaret show vegetarian options (easy to explain no fish / shrimp) shopping fashion with good prices

Can I find one destination with all that? If not maybe Bangkok + two islands? I only have…
