Its still the case that G7 passport holders get 30 days when entering by land whereas many other nationalities only get 15 days if they come by land border.
Authorities announced in August / September 2014 that they reserve the right to restrict the number of border runs those without visas can do. But not much evidence of this being…

Bangkok - 2 days only

I will be in Bangkok for two days only. What area of Bangkok would be the best to find a hotel to get the biggest bang out of my very short two day trip? I will also be flying into one airport and departing out of the other one. Thanks!

favorite Thai islands &/or beaches for kids?

Hi traveling friends, my 5 year old son and I will be ending up in Bangkok in late Jan. as part of a 1 month trip through Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. We have about a week to then visit an island/ beach or 2 before heading back home. What are some faves for a lone mama and boy? I'm thinking of the Andaman side- I remember being really amazed by Railay and Krabi years ago. (and I've already been to the main Gulf Islands) Are there others that would be awesome, beautiful, safe, fun for…

Also would love to know what is happening in the surrounding area/islands for NYE?!

Not sure if I really want a full on party, but def good to mark the occasion in a special way...All ideas/suggestions welcome..

I have less than two weeks, so would love to get your ideas.. & of course if you're in the area let's catch up!

Cheers & Sawadee pi mai :)

Rent a Bike in Koh Tao

My friendly advice to you is to never ever rent a motorbike or anything else at Satjapon store (at the main street in front of a 7Eleven) in Koh Tao, Thailand.
Despite having caused some minimal scratches on the bike, due to the very off road roadways of the island, the man responsible for the store demanded an enourmous amount for it. Is is important to underline that, while I was trying to be polite and diplomatic, the man not only locked the door of the store so that we couldn't leave, but he…
