Lonely Planet review for Heuan Phen

At this well-known restaurant everything is on display, from the northern Thai food to the groups of culinary visitors and the antique-cluttered dining room. Chiang Mai locals might sniff at the quality, but for newbies the ambience and the dishes are a treat. Daytime meals are served in a large canteen out front.

    Heuan Phen_the spicy restaurant

    I was in this restaurant in August 2008.Everything good. But I think people need to know:
    1)that all food in this restaurant is very spicy, impossible to eat (and I do eat spicy!); expecially the one that the Lonely Planet suggests: "làap khùa". I would write on the guide that it's spicy!;
    2)it's located in a very quite place, with no bus/taxi station around. So when you get there with a tuk tuk, ask the driver to take you back after the dinner (defining the time and negotiating the price).
    Those two points are important things that are not indicated on the guide(7th italian edition, november 2007 - 12th english edition, august 2007).
    Hope you'll consider to insert this review in the next guide edition.

    3 stars for food would be the right rate, in my opinion: Too much spicy...!
    I had to go to hamburger king to get a sandwich. . .
    But if you really like spicy dishes, you won't be disappointed.
