Offers moo·ay tai (Thai boxing, also spelt muay thai) instruction to foreigners and Thais. Several Lanna students have won stadium bouts, including the famous transvestite boxer Parinya Kiatbusaba. The camp is difficult to find; get a ride on a túk-túk or sŏrng·tăa·ou.

    Wandering Hands: BEWARE OF DEN

    Women should be aware before training at Lanna Muay Thai in Chiang Mai, that one of the trainers will feel them up. Den touched me inappropriately a few times; a glancing hand to my privates, and a pad over my hip and breast. He answered with a guilty grin, and a "what did I do?" when I confronted him about it. Andy Thomson, the manager, responded diplomatically when I mentioned the incident to him, but sided with his instructor, so management will not protect you. Women, beware! Work with the other instructors or at another training site!
