Venomous snakes such as the formidable cobra, banded krait and pit viper live a peaceful and – though they probably don’t know it – altruistic existence at this institute affiliated with the Thai Red Cross. Watch them being milked of their venom (daily at 11am) or, in the case of the python, draped around tourist necks (2.30pm Monday to Friday).
