So I have about 5 hours -- from approx 7 pm to midnight -- in Bangkok between flights. Would it be possible to go into the city, to drive by a temple or two, to grab a drink at the Oriental hotel? Is this at all doable?

I transferred £100 on the internet to somebody in Thailand and they only got 41 baht to the pound. The rate quoted today on the internet is 45.6. In fact at no time since Brexit has it dropped below 44. Most of the time being up around 46 or 47.
What are people being quoted on the ground in Thailand? 10% commission seems a bit steep to me. The UK bank's commission is charged separately so not included.

I was stung (my fault) when I arrived in Bangkok from the north and took a tut tut to my hostel. Now, I will be coming back up from Phuket, arriving at the Southern Bus Terminal, and want to get to a hostel in the Khaosan Road area. I will have a bike and all my touring gear. Suggestions on the best way to do this please? Rough cost?

Hi

I will be in Chiang Rai and headed to Pai. Are here frequent direct buses between the two towns? Do I have to take a bus to Chiang Mai and then another to Pai? is it in the same bus terminal? How long is the journey? How comfortable are the buses? I flew in and out of Chiang Mai a few years ago but did not get a chance to take buses.

Thanks in advance for your tips.

Hello all,

I am hoping you can help.

I am planning a marriage proposal during the day and would really appreciate some restaurant recommendations in Chiang Mai for that evening.

Are there any restaurants you can think of that would be perfect for celebrating a hopeful 'yes'? I don't have a budget in mind; it's more about the experience and the food rather than how much it costs. I'm open to different food genres as well. I'm really looking forward to being able to experience an amazing…
