    Lonely Planet review

Arguably one of Thailand's finest chunks of beachfront property, this exclusive resort sprawls across grounds filled with banyan trees, flowers and meandering ponds. The two-storey, mushroom-domed pavilions are packed with antique furniture, locally sourced spa products and every mod con (including butler service). Some have private pools.

There are yoga classes, tours in luxury speedboats and a first-rate spa, plus a range of kids-only activities, and family-sized villas. Nonguests are welcome for pricey but divine cuisine courtesy of the four on-site eateries. The Grotto plates up Mediterranean treats half-inside an illuminated cave fronting Hat Tham Phra Nang, where you might alternatively dine on upscale Thai fare at the Terrace .

Our independent authors have visited Rayavadee and selected this as one of our recommended accommodation in Railay.
