On an island packed with weighed-to-order fish grills, this is one of the best. Its huge ice shelf is packed with lobsters, prawns, grouper, red snapper, sole, trevally and barracuda. It also has live lobsters. It has one menu and four dining rooms – two of them on the sand. The food is always great, and the prices are quite reasonable.

    As a regular to Phuket you get to know where the great restaurants are and Savoey is one of them. This place has been around forever not even challenged by the devastating 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami.

    Located ideally along Patong where the buzzing nightlife is a stone throw away. Savoey is a large restaurant catering for intimate dinners or for larger groups who want a good night out.

    The food here is wonderful, especially the seafood which is local and fresh. There is an area at the front of the restaurant where you pick fish, calamari, prawns etc on a bed of ice or you can pick lobster or crab from a tank, you can't get any fresher than that!!! Once you have selected your fresh seafood it is weighed and then you have the option of fried, grilled with mornay or my favourite lemon garlic butter. The Thai dishes here are not to be forgotten this place offers mouth watering thai specialties as well.

    Savoey has a great bar especially the Mai Thais that come in a coconut shell, all the presentation that goes into their cocktails are a work of art. The local Thai beers are also nice and very cheap.

    The hospitability is wonderful which is typical of Thai people no wonder they call this place the land of the smiles. The atmosphere is buzzing with groups, families and couples. Savoey is the place to go for a perfect seafood meal and cocktails at a very affordable price.
