NEW VISA CHANGES THREAD

At a glance the changes that have occurred since the original summary are that -

Non visa entry by land or air can now be extended for 30 days for 1900 baht.
Its still the case that G7 passport holders get 30 days when entering by land whereas many other nationalities only get 15 days if they come by land border.
Authorities announced in August / September 2014 that they reserve the right to restrict the number of border runs those without visas can do. But not much evidence of this being…

Buses and travel in southern Thailand

Hi,
I am wondering how easy it is to catch a bus from Phang-nga towns such as Khuraburi town or Takua, to Surat Thani town. I will be getting done with a trip to Koh Prah Thong island, and then I will have eight days until I need to be in Koh Pha Ngan Island.
Help!
Thanks :)

Ayervedic massage in Chiang Mai

My wife and I do not like the Traditional Thai type of massage -- too painful for our 50+ year old bodies -- we are looking for a recommendation for a place in Chiang Mai where we could get a nice gentler type of relaxation massage or maybe even an Ayervedic massage if possible, and for a reasonably inexpensive rate, like maybe B500 - B1000 for a 60 minute massage ? Thx for any leads.

Muay Thai beginner couple in Bangkok

Hey guys, my girlfriend and I want to book into a week's training whilst we're in Bangkok. Neither of us has any experience and yes, we know it's going to be hell! Can anyone recommend a couple/novice friendly gym there? We already have accommodation so we're just looking for the training side of things.

Thanks for reading...

New Year's Eve - Khao Lak

Hi,

My friend and I will be Khao Lak for NYE's this year. Can anybody recommend a good place to celebrate it. It would be nice to go somewhere with a bit of a party atmosphere (well, by Khao Lak's standards). Unfortunately we'll be up at 5 am for our flight home though, so not too many cocktails! :-(

Thanks.

Itinerary Advice

Hi,

I've spent the last few weeks trailing through the internet and my lonelyplanet to pin down my trip to South East Asia.
I'd land in Bangkok on the 30th December and would fly out on the 17th January - which gives me a good 17 full days and 2 half days to enjoy myself. I'm 24 and I'd be travelling alone for most of the trip although I do have a friend in Malaysia who has mentioned may join me for some of it.

Week 1
30th - Arrive in Bangkok, switch Airports and take a flight to Southern…
