There has been frustration expressed about the number of similar questions being asked about onward ticket complications. The idea of this thread is that it might be a one stop shop for all the common questions so in future a link might be given to it rather than having to write the same info again and again-

How do I know the info already on Thorntree about this is still current ?

The basic issues about onward tickets have changed little in the last 25 years or more. When there are any…

Hi everyone,
I booked a flight to Krabi to spend next week on Ko Lanta/Phi Phi. Unfortunately, the weather will be scattered thunderstorms! I am considering alternatives, since there seems little point going to the beach if it will rain all week. It also looks as though Ko Samui will be quite thunderstorm-y. Does anyone have other suggestions for beach destinations with better weather?

Hi,

I'm a 30 year old woman doing a solo trip to Thailand in a few days and I was hoping for some itinerary feedback. I have some basic framework but I'm not sure how to fill in the details.

I wanted to go to Thailand specifically because I wanted a really good dive trip. I only have my Open Water and not very much diving experience. Wicked Diving came highly recommended to me, and I really liked everything I heard about them. I wanted to go to the Similan Islands on a liveaboard, and I also…

I'll start by saying I never post in forums but I wish I had known a lot of what I went through prior to booking my first trip to Thailand and hope that this could prove helpful to others.

Few things to keep in mind, I went with my partner to visit a friend in Bangkok. We are in our late 20s, both white females and basically broke bc we live in LA. Here was our trip with how we made smart moves and how we also made dumb moves:

Language and translating: One of the smartest things I did was make…

Visa refused

One of my friend applied for Thai tourist visa with all the required documents, but there was no invitation plus occupation was written as 'self service'. His bank statement was really good.

However after waiting for around three weeks, his passport came from embassy without any visa and on the last page of the passport the embassy stamped a tiny tittle seal with letter 'bl'.

Can anyone help what is wrong here?

Another to note, I have travelled Thailand five weeks ago, my occupation was noted…
