I am doing an 8 day intrepid safari from Nairobi, mostly concentrated in northern Tanzania. We are doing game drives in the Serengeti (3) and Ngorongoro Crater (1). I know December is the time of "short rains", I was wondering how much would this interfere with seeing animals? Is there any chance none would be seen?
Was recently in Tanzania and chose TroPeaks (Daniel and Thomas)as my company because of good reviews on here. I tried to post on tropeaks thread but it's locked by the moderator.
I emailed them and was very impressed with the speed of their response. We agreed pick up from airport to start Kili the day after arrival 31st of July with a group, then safari with another group and they'd drop me off at airport (I was on very short schedule). I also didnt want to do either alone.
I will visit Tanzania (Tarangire, Ngorogoro, Serengeti) in early to mid September. I heard that visiting the Massai villages can be a little disappointing because it is too touristy and commercialized. Does anyone have any information on that? If I was interested in visiting one, is there a particular one that you would recommend?
Thanks in advance!
Hello all! I've now finished my safari (sad face) and am in Moshi. Here is a review I wrote of my week with AAA Express Adventure. I hope you will find it useful. I had a wonderful week and saw as many elephants as I had been hoping for (a LOT)!

Hello! I will be in Tanzania Oct. 13-26 - I will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro Oct. 14-21, and have Oct 22-26 free to do a safari. I've been looking into safari's and they all seem to be pretty expensive for solo travelers :( Will anyone be in Tanzania during this time and interested in joining me on a budget camping safari? Doing the safari in a group would drop the cost significantly! I'm looking to spend no more than $1200 total...

Hi fellow travellers!

Our next plan (we are 2) would be landing in Lusaka (which is the cheapest flight in that area)- then travelling with the bus to Lilongwe (hopefully not more then 15 hours)- then staying for about a week in lake Malawi aerea- then heading of to Nampula and further to Ilha de Mocambique and Quirimbas Archipel, maybe also Pemba. Afterwards i would want to make it over the coastline of tanzania to…
