The Takrima sails roughly weekly between Tanga and Wete on Pemba (US$25, five hours).

There are daily buses to Dar es Salaam (TSh7000 to TSh10, 000, four to five hours), Arusha (TSh9000, seven hours) and Lushoto (TSh4000, three to four hours).
