Don't want to wait! We have just booked to climb Kilimanjaro using Pofu route starting on 15th October this year, we are starting our 7 days budget camping tomorrow and we have our Whatsup to communicate. It was very difficult to find the local Tanzanian tour company which can operate that route because Pofu route seems to be new and rarely used. We first contacted the USA based company which was the only one found, BUT later we found the local one which was about half the price of…
Hi, any advice on how best to get from Kilimanjaro airport to Moshi (travelling in afternoon). Have booked to stay at Kindoroko Hotel in Moshi.
If taxi - how much should this cost? Can I just get in one at the airport or need to pre-book? Any companies that are particularly good / bad?
Hi! We are a couple from Europe and we have booked the safari from October 17 to Thursday October 20: From Arusha to Tarangire Serengeti and Ngorongoro and back to Arusha. We are looking for 2 or 3 other people to join!
Please let us know!
We are arranging our accommodations for our Tanzania trip. We ideally want a mix of basic camping, tented camps and lodge but now the cost with this together is a lot more than expected. I'm trying to cut down on the nights we have tented camps and lodges and just have more days of basic camping. But I'm not sure which nights to do camping or tented camps/lodge. Please give your input on which nights might be best to do camping vs. tented camp/lodge. Thanks!

We are heading to Zanzibar for 10 days in December (before Xmas, hoping to avoid the big crowds of tourists).
My draft itinerary is:
#2 days: Stone Town
#1day: tour from Stone Town (maybe Prison Island+Nakupenda) or Safari Blu? (any suggestion on the best tour?)
#3days: Jambiani (beach, forest, bicycle trip)
#3days: Pwani Mchangani (relax, kayak, bicycle trip to the North, maybe snorkelling?)
#2-3 days in Kizimkazi (maybe before going to Jambiani)
Unfortunately we have no time to…
This follows on from my previous post.
We caught the bus from Mtwara at a very reasonable hour in stead of the usual 5am start for the very pleasant 5 hour journey to Newala arriving in the early afternoon. The locals at the bus stand directed us down the road to a reasonable guest house, clean and cheap, I can't remember the name but as you leave the bus stand turn left and head down the long straight road and after about 1/2 it is on your right.
We asked at reception about getting to God's…
Sorry but I have not posted on her for well over a year and been back to Tz twice since then so just an up date on my adventures.
In July last year I met my long time friend (my guide on Kili in 208) at Dar, not a place I like to stay very long in but on this occasion I needed to stay for a day before my onward journey. My friend uncle Yoda drives a taxi so getting around is not a problem (apart from the horrendous traffic!) and we spent a pleasant day at coco beach. As usual I stayed at the…

Just want to get any suggestions or comments on our itinerary, particularly if we should keep the 7 day safari or reduce down to 6 day safari to expand just a bit more time in Zanzibar at the end. We want to do safari, climb Kili and finish at Zanzibar. We originally were going to try to do the 5 day Marangu route but to increase our chances for success we will now do the 6 day trek instead. I would ideally like to keep the 7 day safari, but I am concerned about how rushed we might feel in…
My husband and I are planning a trip to Tanzania for late May/early June. We were planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for the 5 day Marangu Route followed by a 7-day safari. However, tour operators have told me different things. One told me that due to weather conditions of the rainy season they advise doing the safari first and then doing the climb in early June. Another operator said they advise doing the climb first followed by safari so that the safari does not wear us out…
