Gombe: Guesthouse Reservation

I have totally dropped the ball on this part of my trip to Tanzania and desperately need your help:

I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO RESERVE A SPOT IN THE GOMBE GUESTHOUSE (TANAPA, Kasekela)--HELP!

Online I found one email for the warden at Gombe (chimps@tanzaniaparks.com), but do not trust that it will get me a reply. I found one phone number to call from the US (011, 255, 28-280-4009) but I do not have international calling capabilities.

First, I need to find out if there are any spots…

Morocco to Tanzania

Hi Everyone,

I have a flight to Morocco, but plan to travel to Tanzania from there. Is it possible to purchase a flight to Tanzania when I get to Morocco? If so does anyone know how much internal flights cost when purchasing inside Morocco?

Also how difficult is it to arrange Safari and other plans once I get to Tanzania? Just that I don't have time to research I need to leave as soon as possible and don't want to spend my free time researching at home.

Thank you in advance for your time…

Travelling from Nairobi to Musoma (and then to Kiabakari)

Hello

We are a group of twenty who would like to visit the Bible School in Kiabakari (outside of Musoma). We would like to travel from Nairobi or Arusha airports around February.

Should we rent a bus? Are there Shuttles/buses going from Nairobi/Arusha to Musoma or Kiabakari? Is it easier to just fly into Dar es Salaam and fly Precision Air to Musoma? We are on a budget as well, and that does not make this easier. I have even looked into flying into Uganda and take a ferry over Lake Victoria!

Durian

I always hear about the "King of Fruit" - durian - and it turns out that there is a durian season in Zanzibar (the only location in Africa, from what I can find). Does anyone know when that season might be?

Backpacking Zanzibar

Hi Guys

I've got six days to explore Zanzibar on the cheap in the beginning of January and was just wondering if anyone had a suggested itinerary. I don't plan on moving around a whole lot as I clearly don't have the time. I'd mainly like to find a beautiful coastal village to chill out in for a few days with good beaches and diving. I'll probably reserve my last day for exploring Stone Town. I was considering shacking up in Bwejuu. Any thoughts, opinions, suggestions, etc would be much…

Kilimanjaro via Western Breach + Safari guide recommendation.

Hello,

My girlfriend and I are looking into a trip to Tanzania in a few months, for about 12 days on our way back from the middle east. We're interested in climbing Kili via the Umbwe and Western Breach route. We're not looking for anything fancy as we're both very experience endurance athletes and mountaineers: we've summited 22,841 foot Aconcagua in Argentina via the difficult Polish Direct route unguided, got within a few thousand feet of the summit of 20,322 foot Denali (turned back due to…
