I'm thinking to travel to Pamir in two weeks. I found an agent in Dushanbe who offered me 1060 USD for 3 persons from Dushanbe to Pamir for 10 days by jeep.
Please let me know if someone interested.
Mail me or phone me please:
Can anybody tell me if there are any guides in Khorog that can take me over the border for three or four days to get a taste of the Afgani way of life, and how much that would cost
Amazingly the 'Roof of the World' Regatta event happened and sailors made it to Karakul to participate for five days in the highest altitude sailing event in the world, ever...
Check out some of the stunning photos on their Facebook page...
Rumour has it that they are running the event again in September 2015!
Trying to plan a trip next year maybe to the Stan's

2)Can I also get the driver to stop where I feel like it,as I would love to take a lot of photos
3)how long would it take usually from Dushanbe or Murgab to Osh
4)am I better off doing it this way round because of the altitude
I plan to leave Osh November 1, travel to Khorog, then check out the Wakhan Valley. Anyone interesting in joining from Osh to Khorog or beyond?
I'm thinking 2 weeks or a bit more for the whole thing. Ideally I'd hire a 4x4, at least for the Osh to Khorog section, but can't afford it on my own.
We need to cross from Tajikistan into Uzbekistan to get to Samarkand by 23rd October. If that's the case, what other border crossing options are there when travelling with your own vehicle?

After Dushanbe, I spent almost 3 weeks traveling around the Pamir region on the way back to Kyrgyzstan. There were huge numbers of tourists, not as many as in Uzbekistan which was…
Hello fellow travellers, I will be landing in BISHEK on the 12 October, and wondering if you have any tips to get a visa quick and painless, without having to wait 7 days around? And what are the costs. Thank you!
I am an Indian national (woman) planning to travel through the Pamir Highway from Khorog to Osh starting around 12th October. Will be happy to team up with other travellers on the same route around the same time to share costs. Will be open to a foray into Wakhan if time permits.
I had heard that there was a sailing regatta (!!!) on Karakul this last week where a bunch of tourists had got together and sailed/kite-surfed on the lake. Apparently the whole village turned out on the beach for five days to cheer them on and have a party. Amazing!
Are there plans for any further such events in the future and how would I find out?
