My wife and I are visiting French Polynesia in mid-December and have heard mixed comments about the weather. Any advice on what to expect in terms of rainfall, sunshine, limits on what to do around the islands?
We will visit French Polynesia next March for 9 days. What would your suggestion be to do in that 9 days? Is it worth it to buy a ticket to Bora Bora or is Moorea as beautiful?
Any suggestions on nice diving spots over there? And costs?
Thanks a lot
Hello. I'm hoping I could get some advice on staying somewhere in French Polynesia for anywhere from 2-4 weeks in July next year.
I realise that sounds quite vague but we have decided it would be a great stop during out 6 month sabbatical with our 2 year old. We will be flying out of LA then onto NZ as that seems to be the best direct flights.
Basically I know nothing
Is it safe?
Is it suitable for a 2 year old?
I know that July is a good time for weather but bad as may be busy however…
Anyone here have any experience with cruising on the M/V Aranui 3 , mixed passenger/cargo vessel operating between Tahiti and the Marquesas. ?Is it worth the expence ? Did you feel you got to see / experience much of the islands visited. Was it enough time ? I am wondering if it would be more worthwile flying to some of the islands and stay there for more than one day, than cruising for on ly a short day / few hours on each Place...
My wife and I have planned to travel to Bora-Bora early this month. We were suppose to depart from London Heathrow and transit in Los Angeles to Tahiti. Our trip was booked 6 months ago with a travel agency in UK. We were advised to do all the usuals including checking the visa requirement for our destination, which we did. However, we did not know and were not informed that a visa is required to transit in LA. As the result, were couldn't board our flight from London and had to cancel our…
I will be leaving for a dream trip to Polynesia this autumn - a week's cruise around Polynesia. Since cruise ship internet is notoriously expensive, I'm thinking of buying a micro SIM card for my iPad once I arrive in Papeete.
Does anyone have advice for me what kind of micro SIM cards exist, what to look out for and where to get one? And am I right in assuming that a card bought on Tahiti would work on the other French Polynesians islands like Bora Bora as well?
We've heard great things about the Aranui 3 and are interested in taking the trip next year (Nov 2015) but there seems to be no prices, or any way of making enquiries at the moment. Is this because they are replacing the ship? When will we be able to make enquiries? (we would be coming from a long way away and need to plan a long time in advance...)
Many thanks, Heidi
