Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort
Lonely Planet review
This excellent, modern Polynesian resort sports 114 units, including 39 opulent overwater bungalows. It’s on the best beach on the island and the service is beyond anything else we found on Mo’orea. Some of the ‘modern touches’ (bright-orange tables and digitalised Gauguin bedheads) may not be to every-body’s taste, but overall the hotel is elegant and relaxing. The list of facilities is prolific, with two restaurants, a wonderful spa, a small pool and a reputable diving centre. It’s the only resort facing Tahiti, whose cloud-capped summits form a picture-postcard backdrop. This also means that it gets less sunshine in the afternoon.
Our independent authors have visited Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Mo'orea.
