Lonely Planet review for Khan As'ad Pasha
Just beyond the hammam is the grand entrance to Khan As'ad Pasha, arguably the finest and most ambitious piece of architecture in the Old City - a cathedral among khans. Built in 1752 under the patronage of As'ad Pasha al-Azem, it encompasses a vast space achieved through a beautiful arrangement of eight small domes around a larger circular aperture, allowing light to stream in above a circular pool. The domes are supported on four colossal grey-and-white piers that splay into elegant arches.
Beyond the khan, the souq intersects with Straight St.

The Headquarters of Jesus and Spiritual Residece of the . .
shamorbust recommends this,
The Maqam of Shaykh Abduallh Daghestani is a hidden gem that is locate on the blessed mountain known as Jebbal Qassum. Ask any public Suzuki driver where it is, and chances are you will be taken to the right place. If not, I guess you were not invited, because no one goes without a spiritual invitation. You can find these Suzuki drivers parked along the base of the mountain in the Rouknadeen and Sheikh Muhiadeen neighborhoods.
According to widely recognized saints, this Maqam will be the headquarters of Jesus when he returns. It is also reportedly the location of the Cave of Promises, which will not be revealed until Jesus returns.
Each Sunday free soup is served to the public, not to be missed. On Thursday evenings there is a thikr (Sufi circle) oepn to the public for all to experience. Be sure to wear modest attire, as these are all spiritual seekers looking to conect with their Creator. Women are welcome and gather upstairs in the balcony overlooking the circle - a perfect vantage point for a birds eye view.
Ask for Umar and Fatima, an expat couple who just wish to be weak servants, helping people who come visit the Maqam.

The single most beautiful interior in Damascus
robch recommends this,
An overnight stopping place for caravans trading through Damascus, the ground floor took goods and camels, the uppper floors the travellers. All done in simple black and white, it is a delight, which is too easy to walk past.
