Rail passes

Has anyone used the "Tell " pass -- regional pass for the Lucern area. I am trying to compare it to the Swiss Rail pass. It would appear the "Tell " pass covers the cost of more lifts in the area ( as compared to Swiss pass discounts ) can't find a list of exactly what is covered in full -- just a map.
Is there a list of coverage available anywhere?
I am trying to decide which is better value -- Tell Pass or Swiss Rail. Will be staying in the Lucern area 1 week. Have to buy the Swiss Pass before…

Hi

I have an upcoming trip to Europe and will be landing in Geneva Switzerland on Sat April 25th at 7:30 am and have to be in Grenoble France on Monday April 27th by noon.

I have spent a weekend in Geneve on a prior trip so would like to explore some other plac e in Switzerland. Initially was thinking of either Bern, or Veveaux/Montreaux, and read Rick Steve's Best of Europe and he recommends Gimmelwald and the Berner Oberland.

I like a mix of architechture/culture, good food with some…

Hello!

I am planning on making a quick trip to Switzerland during the first week of July. My main goal for the trip is to take some landscape photos (particularly night photography and early morning). I will be renting a car in Frankfurt and driving into Switzerland.

Any tips or suggestions of things that I should cover?

My ideas so far revolve around driving from Frankfurt to Interlaken early morning on Jul 2. Spend a few hours relaxing around Interlaken before hiking up to Bachalpsee to…

I would like to go from Milan to Lugano and then take the Bernina Express, possibly getting off in one of the cities and somehow taking the Glacier Express and getting back to Lugano-Milan. Please help me figure this out. I would like to do this in 3-4 days if possible. Any suggestions?

Hi,

My husband and I are doing our honeymoon this June. We initially didn't have Switzerland in our plan but the more I browse and plan our trip, the more I'm tempted to visit this amazing country. Please help me out with my plans.
We'd like to see the beautiful landscapes with the lakes and green valleys, we care much more about the nature parts of this country. We might save the cultural side for a future trip, but if I get just a taste of culture I'd be happy enough. Possible 1-3 hours in L

Hi,

I am planning a trip to this beautiful country during the month of June (Mid June) 2015. Seeking some advice to set a itinerary. We will be landing at Zurich airport, and want to visit Interlaken, Mt. Titlis, Jungrfrau (A day trip if possible depends on the weather i suppose). Also wanted to visit Montreux primarily to travel via the Golden Pass line.

Now wondering if all this is possible in a 7 day trip, or should we extend it by couple of days.

Kindly suggest...

Regards

Swopnil

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of going to Geneva at the end of May for 4 days. I was hoping to use the city as a gateway to do some hiking in the nearby area. My questions are:

  • Is end of May a good time to go to this area (or Switzerland in general) in terms of weather?

  • Do I have easy access to some nice hiking being based in Geneva, without having to travel too far? Or do I need to travel elsewhere in the country to get that?

I'm after easy-to-moderate hikes that offer nice views. Happy to do…
