Boat

The company CGN (084 881 18 48; www.cgn.ch; Ave de Rhodanie 17) runs boats from Ouchy to destinations around Lake Geneva. From late May to late September there are frequent departures to all resorts, including the French side. There are no car ferries.

Up to 14 boats daily shuttle to and from Evian-les-Bains (France) in July and August (Sfr16/27.20 one way/return in 2nd class, 40 minutes), dropping to seven to nine boats the rest of the year. You can take less-frequent boats to places like Montreux (Sfr20.60, 1½ hours) and Geneva (Sfr34.80, about 3½ hours). A day pass to go anywhere on the lake costs Sfr55 (Sfr74 in 1st class).
