I will be arriving in Lauterbrunnen from Munich around 14:30 on June 03 and was wondering if that gives me any time to do some hikes around the area. I would love to knock out Grindelwald and some hikes this day but was wondering if this would be at all possible considering my late arrival. If not Grindelwald, what can I do from 15:00 - ??.
I have the LP book and it suggested the Kleine Scheidegg Walk but the walk is around 5-6 hours. Would it be best to save Grindelwald for another…
I will be in Chamonix from 29 April to 1st May. Then I have 3 more days left before I fly-out form Geneva (flight is on 4th May late night). I am traveling solo using public transport and love hiking. I am looking to spend these 3 days hiking either in Zermatt area or near Geneva or any other recommendation..??. Can anyone suggest which place would be good for serious full day hikes (I am experienced hiker) for 2-3 days ?
I would appropriate if you can mention the hike routes. Thanks in…
I will be in western Europe mid May to the end of May and wanted to extend my trip with some hiking. I'm very interested in the Haute Route, but I'm concerned about what will be open the first week of June. Any advice?
I'm more than willing to switch routes for a better hike. Thanks!
We will be taking the train to Laufenburg from Basel and just had a couple of questions:
1) If we want to see the German side of the city is it as easy/cheap to go from the German railway station in Basel to the German railway station in Laufenburg
2) If we do get the train into the Swiss side of Laufenburg, how long would it take to cross the river to the German side?
3) Are rail tickets cheaper if purchased beforehand or is it ok to purchase at the station/on the train?
We will be visiting Lucerne for three days in the first week of May. There are so many places to see in and around Lucerne, so finding very difficult to come up with an itinerary. Could you share your valuable opinion/comments/suggestions on the following itinerary?
Day 1: Lucerne
Landing in Zurich around 8:30am, take the next available train to Luzerne, check-in at the hotel. I expect that it will take us at least until 12pm to start our activity in Lucerne. Walk around Lucerne, famous sights…
I'm really excited to be planning our once in a decade dream vacation to Switzerland.
We're going to be in the country for 9 days in total flying out of California. We're a family of four with a 7 year old and a 12 year old that will be traveling with us. I've been wanting to go to Switzerland for so long and we've finally decided to visit. We're tentatively going to be there the last week of May and returning the weekend of the first week of June.
I'm not sure how to plan the…
I have to visit Zurich for a week to kick off a new project. I have got my multi-entry visa from Swiss embassy yday. However the company I am visiting also has a good presence in Poland and they want me to first come to Poland stay for a week, go back to my home country and then 2 weeks later visit Zurich for another set of meetings.
Can I use the same Schengen visa issued by Swiss embassy for both these travels. Will there be any documentation requirements if this is allowed. Do I…
can anybody recommend a cheap place to overnight close to the Geneva airport, or well connected to it? My usual search engines only offer prices above 80 euros.
Going to be in Geneva on business in a few weeks. Meetings are over on Thursday evening. Instead of flying back to the States on Friday, I'm going to fly back on Sunday and spend Friday and Saturday doing something fun. Any recommendations for a 2 day trip out of the city? I made a reservation for a rental car (refundable) for the 2 days if driving is better, but could also do the train. Trying not to spend a fortune, which is one reason I'm headed out of the city (last time I was there on…
Which is the best (most beautiful) route to take the train to San Remo from Geneva?
Via Milan, or via Nice/Lyon?
The train timee for the French route suit me better, but if the Italian route is spectacular, then I will do that!
