I am planning to take the train to Jungfraujoch from Interlaken OST in May 2017. As advice in many posts, considering the weather, the tickets should be bought when the time is near. Hence I've allocated 2 days free for this trip. Due to the ticket price, I would want to secure the early morning trip (6.30 am or 7 am depart from Interlaken OST). We'll be staying in Lucerne for both of the days (I will have 3 nights in Lucerne).
How early should I depart from Lucerne (Huob) in order…

Hello, is there any possibility to do wild camping in Lauterbrunnen valley ?
I was writing email to firstname.lastname@example.org about this information. Their reply me "Wild camping is in the lauterbrunnen valley officialy not allowed. I would reccomend you to stay on a camp site" ... ok thats fine, but what are fines or if the police solve this issue with tourists ? We plan to do wild camping in 2 persons, our target is to do epic panorama photos/ star shooting in this area and relax our mind. We…
I would appreciate your help with the itinerary this weekend.
I land in Zurich early morning on Saturday and plan to spend a day in Zurich perhaps take a boat tour.
Next day I planned to visit Lucern and perhaps Mt Rigi or Pilatus.
On Monday I am planning a visit to Bern a I have to be back in Zurich till 17h.
I have looked for the swiss pass and I am not sure is it affordable for 3 days? If I buy a swiss pass is everything covered with it...some kind of a boat trip in Zurich, trip to Mt...I just…
We will be traveling to Switzerland (and Italy) in Late Sept/Early Oct and I would love to get your thoughts on my tentative itinerary. As the weather is sure to be unpredictable, I listed potential activities under each location and we will probably have to pick and choose when we are there. Thanks in advance! I know it's very early, but I'm a planner and love to be prepared.
Sept 25- Fly into Milan, Train to Bellagio
Sept 26- Lake Como
Sept 27- Lugano
Sep 28- Train (and possible boat on…
I am hoping to do some hiking for a few days in early April in Switzerland. I was wondering if there are any hostels or local tourist offices which organize hikes? I'm not looking for a guide, instead I would like a way to find others to hike with (since I would prefer to not hike alone). Are free or cheap organized hikes available anywhere?
We will be in Montreux for 3 days in May and want to take a short pleasure cruise on Lake Geneva/Leman. We have 2 choices for destinations - we can choose a cruise to Vevey, Switzerland (north shore of lake) or to Saint-Gingolph, France (south shore of lake). Is there a clear difference between these destinations in terms of views and charm? We would probably take train back to Montreux rather than do a round trip on the ship.
I am hoping to do some hiking for a few days in early April in Switzerland. I have done some research, and while higher altitude hiking is not possible this time of year, hiking at lower levels seems quite possible. As I'm a college student, I am hoping to stay somewhere (such as a hostel) that is reasonably affordable.
I have read online that Montreux (Lake Geneva), Lucerne, Valais, Ticino, Appenzell, or even Zermatt would have decent hiking in early April. Can anyone give…
My husband and I are going to finish hiking the tour du Mont Blanc July 27 and will then have 8-9 days to travel through Switzerland or surrounding countries. We have been to Northern Italy and don't need to see anything there, but are looking for recommendations of can't miss things to do/see. We haven't started our research, yet, so I thought I would get suggestions before we start planning our trip. Also, recommendation on how to travel (train, car, etc.) are appreciated.
