Lonely Planet review for Steinbock
While there are dozens of phoney and/or overpriced Swiss restaurants lining Höheweg, this humble tavern is one in which locals also eat. Another good option for Swiss food is the Hirschen.

Extreme sports and good food in a hardcore town
clarkdenton recommends this,
For the last couple of hours I am in the heart of Switzerland, between lakes Thun and Brienza, in a town called Interlaken, on a boulevard that runs across the town from one end to another. The black sky urges me to take cover in a small but showy jewelry store, situated in the shadow of the old Victoria Hotel. Suddenly a flash o light envelops the shop and gives an unexpected brilliance to the jewels, then I see through the large windows of the shop beyond the street, beyond the vast meadow, beyond the forest, something magnificent, the sky opens and the sun shines through the clouds over the Queen of the Alps: Jungfrau the Maiden. And makes this ice covered mountain look like a gigantic torch.
Being so fascinated by this places I decide to go canyoneering, the weather had not improved, is still cloudy and looked like it might rain, this is not what you want to see when you are planning to go sliding through a rivers in a canyon. We drive up into the mountain; we gear up and start the hike down the canyon in freezing water. Rappelling, sliding and jumping down from 9 meters rocks and waterfalls into small pools of water. In one spot I jumped into a cauldron where the water swirls and sucks you in, as soon as I surfaced I had to reach out and grab something but I couldn’t grip the guide’s hand so I was sucked back again, the second time I managed grab his hand and take a breath of air. It was the most memorable thing I've ever done, the whole experience was terrifying and a lot of fun.
At the end of the day I was exhausted and hungry so when we stop at Steinbock and ate some Bratwurst sausages, I taught that these are the best sausages I ever eaten.
It was a great trip, totally different from anything I have done so far, a hardcore trip in a beautiful place.
