I've been checking ferry fares one way with a small car, from Travemunde, Sassnitz and Rostock to Trelleborg and Malmo. The prices seem
all over the map. Big differences depending on the ferry company. Any one out there know of the summer time fare of any of those routes?
Some of the fares were as low as 59 euro; others much higher for the same route.

Hello,
I found a website listing The Uppland trail as having some of the best hiking in Sweden. Unfortunately there is very little information about this. The official website for the hike is pretty sparse too. Has anyone done it? Unfortunatley I don't have much time and can't go too far north on the trail, as due to my schedule/limited drive spent driving, I'll have to stay closer to the southern end of the trail. I arrive in the late afternoon, have the entire next day, then must head back to…

Hi folks,
I'm very excited that I will finally make it to Sweden mid August! I'm going solo (30, female) but hope to meet a lot of locals & other travelers of course. I did read a lot of interesting topics on this forum already, but it regards often family of honey moon trips.

What would you recommend for a solo traveler who loves cities as well as nature, a lot of action & adventure and eager to catch up with other people? I have 11 days (August 9th - 21st).

Thanks a lot!

Nena

Hello everyone!
Im flying to Sweden next week planning to do the first part Kungsleden trail, from Absiko to Kvikkjokk. I have a few questions:

  1. Do you have to prebook tickets to the night train from Arlanda to Abisko, and from Kvikkjokk back? Or you can order on the spot?

  2. The Kebnekaise - how hard is the climb? Im traveling with my brother, and were both fit and have experience hiking but we dont have any experience profesionally mountain climbing or hiking in heavily snowy…

Hej there, can anyone recommend a well-stocked outdoors / camping shop in the Malmo/Lund area? I am looking for things such as a tent, thermarest mat, trangia cooker, and outdoor clothing like Fjall Raven or Haglofs. I will be passing through Malmo by car, hence can reach places which are not necessarily in the center.
Thanks,
Pawel

Hi everyone,

My family and I will travel to Sweden in 3 weeks. We want to visit one palace there and we're hesitating between Drottiningholm and the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Which one is really worth it? I know Drottiningholm is quite popular since it's a UNESCO Heritage but is the Royal Palace also worth it?

Also, to visit the Archipelago, we think about taking one of the boat excursions offered by the Stromma company. Which one do you recommend the most? Is the round-trip "Archipelago Tour…

Hi, I would like to know whether the iron mine in Kiruna is open to tourists or not. I would like to go there with my friends and on our own. Is there any entry fee? Is photography allowed there? And in Abisko and Kiruna what are things that I can do? I will be there in December for two days and I will surely watch Northern Lights. Apart from that what are the best attractions? What are the special delicacies of that region? and best products that I can i buy as a souvenir

Hello everyone,

next month my family is taking a Baltic cruise in/out of Stockholm. Personally, I am going to take the 3pm train to Oslo from the Central Station when we get back into Sweden. My father has been kind enough to offer me the cost of a taxi to get me and my luggage from the port to that station. However, I am assuming there is a relatively straight forward, and less expensive, transportation alternative Port - Station?

Thanks in advance.

This is not a travel question per se but I still hope I can get some advice. I am finalizing a contract with a Swedish school. In the meantime, I am familiarizing myself with the material I should know such as the LGR11 Curriculum document. Is there anything information I should look up, i.e., legislation on safe schools?
