We are staying for a week, flying in to Stockholm and want to get out of the city and see some of the countryside. We've read a lot about staying in cabins but can't seem to find any bookable on line...
... any thoughts?
Hello to everyone! Does the hiking trip to Kungsleden/Sarek areas make sense in the second half of september (two weeks maybe), or the weather makes it hard to enjoy the trip? All the reports of autumn trips to those areas I have seen in the web describe exactly first half of September, and all the huts seems to be closed at 21th of September. Are the closing of huts the only reason nobody goes there at that time or does another reasons exist? Thank you.
Hello, me and a friend are visiting Stockholm for 4 days next week - I really want to experience some of the archipelago, just exploring on foot kind of thing, but I'm not sure what the best way of going about this is? Is there a way to 'island hop' for a day, or is it best to pick a nice, well known island and just hang out there for a day - My friend recommended going to Gotland.
I'm also slightly confused as to how Stockholm is laid out generally as it's made out of a few islands itself - Is…
I am currently planning a hiking trip to the Kungsleden, however I've run into something of a snag.
The flights that I am planning to get put me in Kiruna at about 5:30 (PM) on a sunday, and of course, I won't have fuel for my trangia stove with me, since you can't bring it on a plane.
There is a bus to Abisko tourist station at 8 pm, which I can get, which means I can start the trail on the first day, avoiding having to stay overnight somewhere (which is something I want to do, if possible).…
Looking for beautiful nature about three hours drive from Stockholm. Ideally lake, mountain. & relatively quiet. Which region would offer this.
I have four nights to explore the countryside with a hire car & keen to stay within a three hour radius of Stockholm.

A quick - and urgent - question on a topic that SHOULD have been discussed to death on TT, but I cannot find any traces :-/ Starting this Thursday, I will be in Sweden for a 10 day vacation, mostly Bohuslan/West coast. I need to buy a prepaid SIM card that will give me mobile internet access (phone function is secondary)
I am looking for a pay-as-you-go card that can be bought off the shelf and should work right away (i.e., no contracts, etc.). Any recommendations as to which phone…
My partner and I are in the process of planning a possible trip to Sweden right after Christmas while our two kids are still on their christmas break. We live near Boston so we are very much so used to cold and snowy winters which does not bother us.
We have been to Stockholm before and it being one of my favorite cities in the world, I would love to bring our two girls there. They are 7 and 8. My question is will things be open at this time of year? both times we have visited…
I'd like to cycle south from the Swedish/Norwegian border towards Gothenburg this summer. Has anyone any experience with cycling in that area? I'm particularly worried about car traffic – will it be very busy?
