Hi!

I just posted about my Mozambique side of the trip. From Mozambique I’m flying to Johannesburg, then have to get down to Durban.

Day 1: Fly into Johannesburg, landing at 1530. Pick up hire car. I’ve found a deal with Europcar for GBP 140 for 8 days + a GBP 40 fee to take the car into Swaziland, and dropping it at Durban Airport. Does this seem like a good deal?

I have 8 nights to get from Jo’burg to Durban, with Swaziland being my main goal. So from JNB drive out and spend the night…

Are there weekday (say Wed or Thu) bus or minibus from Mbabane (or Manzini) to Durban? Googling around, I've only found Siye Swtini's TransMagnific and it looks like they only run on weekends?? I am thinking (hoping) there are smaller, local buses that don't advertise on the web...

Hi everyone, I'm a Hong Kong citizen (holding an HKSAR passport) planning to travel to southern Africa later, one of my destination countries will be Swaziland. According to the information available online, I need to arrange a visa before arrival, the problem is how to get it. There's no consulate in Hong Kong or China, there should be an embassy in Taiwan as well as in Kuala Lumpur, however, when I emailed them to make inquiries, none of the email addresses worked.

Does anyone have better…

Hi! I am hoping to go on safari in early February in Swaziland. Can anyone recommend a good safari company to go through? Should I book in advance or is it ok to book once I get there? Thanks!

Some friends and I will be travelling by an ordinary car from Durban to Krugar via Swaziland in mid-November. Can anyone give advice as to which route to take through Swaziland. We have very little time and need to reach Malelane the same day. I've been told that entering Swaziland at Layumisa will be a shorter route to the Jeepes Reef border crossing but the roads might not be as good as those from the Mahamba border crossing. Also if we enter at Layumisa we will have to go via the Pongola…

Hello Travellers.
We were in Swaziland for a few days in december 2014. We did a roadtrip in southern Africa with a small rental car (12 €/day).
Swaziland is really small but it´s a good place to relax, people are friendly, accommodation is cheap and good. Ezulwini Valley is famous for that. In Hlane, there´s a campsite with a waterhole and many rhinos and hippos around.
Enjoy!
Complete information (route, price, budget, etc.) in our blog.

Hi I have two weeks available. One week I want to spend in the north of Mozambique, and the other I thought of going down to Maputo (by air) into Swaziland and fly out from joburg. I could do it the other way round fly in joburg Nd out from Pemba in northern Mozambique.

I'm just confused of how to travel by land between joburg, Swaziland and Maputo. Are there any night trains or bus services between joburg and Swaziland and Swaziland and Maputo?

Also, I like home stays and visiting Swazi…

My girlfriend and I have our own vehicle and are hoping to find a village in Swaziland where we can spend one night and experience the culture. We have our own camping gear and expect to offer some money to the chief of the village in order to obtain permission. I have looked at some of the existing home stay programs advertised and they are very expensive. Instead we are just hoping to pull up to a random rural village and ask for permission to stay there.

Has anyone tried this? If so, please…
