Me and my partner have recently taken up diving, we've done our advanced open water and are looking at doing some diving in Sri Lanka at the end of April/beginning of May. I was wondering if anyone has any general advice on where is recommended taking into account the season, and if there are any reputable companies we should go through?
Another question is, do you think it is worth booking accommodation and transport in advance, or is it one of those countries where you can just rock…
We have got Last few days in Sri Lanka - very tired after travels and want to rest on one of The beaches on west coast as is too far To go to South . Can Anyone recommend what is better ? Negombo or hikkaduwa ? Or others ? We heard that hikkaduwa and waduwa are not very nice - is that true ? I will be grateful for advice we need to decide today
My husband and I will be in Sri Lanka for twelve days in April. We will probably be moving around quite a bit. We are still debating about renting a car from the airport (our general preference when we travel as we like to be spontaneous and explore areas), hiring a driver, or taking trains and local taxis. Any thoughts?
I'm going to Sri Lanka in April with my husband and toddler for the honeymoon we never had. We have three weeks. We want to do a combo of luxe relax time and down to earth meet the locals time. Our main constraint is we want to find accommodation where our toddler can sleep in a separate room from us. Otherwise we pretty much have to sit in silence in a dark room from 8pm every night...not much of a trip. A beach cabin with two rooms would be great, or a room with a verandah.
I'm planning on arriving in Sri Lanka late (11PM) Saturday night, then flying out Monday evening (7PM). Looking for a quick 2-day tour options. I'm thinking of heading direct from airport to Kandy or somewhere inbetween, then next morning go to Sigiriya/Damballa/Kandy. The 2nd (departure) day then would head back to Colombo. Is it best to get a driver for this whole time or just book separately?
In the end of March, me and my boyfriend are going to Sri Lanka. We are wondering if we should hire a driver for our 5 days of sightseeing (Sigirya/Dambulla, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Adam´s Peak and safari at the end before some days (6) with just relaxing.) Or is it cheaper to hire a taxi one destination at a time? If so, can any of you recommend a driver who is reliable, nice and don´t want ALL our money since we are traveling on a budget? And should we book hotell/guesthouse before we go…
