Once a residence for aged priests, this 17th-century baroque mansion guards what is perhaps Seville's most typical sevillano patio – it's intimate, plant embellished and spirit-reviving. The building's other highlights are its 17th-century church, with rich religious murals, and the celebrated painting Santa Rufina by Diego Velázquez, which was procured for a hefty €12.5 million by the on-site Centro Velázquez foundation in 2007. Other roving art exhibitions provide an excellent support act.
