There are two ways to reach Fornalutx, one of Mallorca’s loveliest stone-built villages in the shadow of high mountains. The first is along a narrow, scenic route from Biniaraix, passing through terraced groves crowded with orange and lemon trees. The other is the road that drops down off the Ma10, with aerial views of the village’s stone houses and terracotta roofs.
Cap de Formentor
The most dramatic stretch of Mallorca’s coast (no mean feat!), Cap de Formentor is an otherworldly domain of razor-edge cliffs and wind-buckled limestone peaks jutting far out to sea; from a distance, it looks like an epic line of waves about to break. The road quickly climbs away from Port de Pollença, with splendid views of the bay, and whips its way to the cape.
