Clothing, Accessory shopping in Madrid

    El Templo de Susu

It won’t appeal to everyone, but El Templo de Susu’s secondhand clothes from the 1960s and 1970s have clearly found a market among Malasaña’s too-cool-for-the-latest-fashions types. It’s kind of like charity shop meets unreconstructed hippie, which is either truly awful or retro cool, depending on your perspective.

    Diedro

One of the most innovative gift shops in Madrid, Diedro has designer jewellery, clothes, stationery and homewares. It’s a wonderful space spread over three floors that span just about every taste, as long as it’s design-conscious. Leading brand names include Calvin Klein, Pandora, Guess, Bodum and Alessi.

    Gallery

This stunning showpiece of men’s fashions and accessories (shoes, bags, belts and the like) is the new Madrid in a nutshell – stylish, brand conscious and all about having the right look. There are creams and fragrances to indulge the metrosexual in you, as well as quirkier items such as designer crash helmets. With an interior designed by Tomas Alia, and a growing line in women's fashions, it’s one of the city’s coolest shops.

    Snapo

Snapo is rebellious Malasaña to its core, thumbing its nose at the niceties of fashion respectability – hardly surprising given that one of its lines of clothing is called Fucking Bastardz Inc. It does jeans, caps and jackets, but its T-shirts are the Snapo trademark; there are even kids' T-shirts for really cool parents. Down through the years, we've seen everything from a mocked-up cover of ‘National Pornographic’ to Pope John Paul II with fist raised and ‘Vatican 666’ emblazoned across the front. Need we say more?
