To succeed on the international stage, Spain’s celebrity chefs have to take experimentation to new levels, but to succeed at home they usually have to maintain a greater fidelity to traditional bases before heading off in new directions. La Gloria de Montera
La Gloria de Montera combines classy decor with eminently reasonable prices. The food’s not especially creative, but the tastes are fresh, the surroundings are sophisticated and you’ll get a good initiation into Spanish cooking without paying over the odds. It doesn’t take reservations, so turn up early or be prepared to wait.
