Lonely Planet review for Nagoya

Madrid has its fair share of Japanese restaurants, but you won’t find any better than this one. The service is friendly and fast, and the food is outstanding – from the tempura and sushi to the kami yaki soba (duck with noodles and teriyaki sauce). Ask for your maki with sesamo por fuera (sesame on the outside) and you’ll be in heaven.

Good value for money, no hype.

    abtlang recommends this,

Most of the Japanese restaurants I've been to here in Madrid are heavy on promise but don't really deliver, at least not for the prices they charge. Nagoya is just the opposite. It's pretty unassuming, hasn't changed since it opened in 1999, and offers excellent value for money. The sushi is excellent - try the assorted nigiri sushi, and the "Nagoya Maki Tempurizado" (with salmon, tuna and chive inside, and battered in tempura outside). A good example of overdelivery is the "Gyu Tataki", which is described on the menu as "semi-raw grilled loin of beef", but when you get it, you can see immediately it is in fact sirloin - and really delicious. I agree completely about the friendly service. All in all, a very welcoming and satisfying restaurant.
