In the first week of July I’ll bring my son to Bordeaux and two weeks later we’ll meet again with husband and friends in Moliets.
I plan to spend these two weeks in Northern Spain. I love travelling alone, am fluent in spanish, 50+.
My plan so far is: Bordeaux – Biarritz (1 night) – Bilbao (1 n) – Llanes (3 n) – Cangas de Onis (3 n) – Ribadesella – San Vincente de Barquera – San Sebastian (1 n) – (Dax) – Moliets. After the Picos de Europa and Llanes (hiking, biking, canoeing) I need some…

Car/bus/train

We have two weeks to travel, beginning June 18 in Madrid and departing July 3 from Barcelona. We are leaning towards a route from Madrid to Cordoba, Sevilla, Granada, Barcelona with travel primarily by train although we might fly from Granada to Barcelona. We do want to get out a bit when in these cities, to do some light hiking around Granada especially. Will we need a car to access the Sierra Nevada area? If so, would it be best to get a car for a day or two in each area, train travel to next…

7 days in Seville?

We will be in Spain (Andalucia)for 3 1/2 weeks and trying something different this trip. We usually never pre-book anything and just kind of go where the wind takes us...BUT this trip I decided to pre-book an apartment for 7 days in Seville. I've been reading on some other forums that 7 days is to long. Is it? We were planning on doing a day trip to Ronda, Cordoba, maybe Cadiz from here so that would take up 3 of the 7 days. I'm leaning more to public transport while in Seville as well and then…

Spanish Language radio news/podcasts

Hey peeps,

On Wednesday I'll be leaving New York to spend a semester studying in Madrid (a decision made with help from some of you, so thank you for that). I'm a journalism/politics major and big into NPR/public radio, so while I've been challenging myself to read El País for a week or two already, I'd love to also find some Spanish podcasts to check out.

I'm into current affairs and politics, but also music/food/lit/arts, and generally anything with good storytelling. So far I've stumbled…

Madrid, Seville and Mallorca

Hi everyone,

We are new to this travel forum and was hoping you can help us with our travel plans for our summer vacation.

My husband and I and our two sons (ages 15 and 17) have travelled to Europe every summer for the last 6 years and this year we have decided to visit Spain. We have been to Barcelona before (spent a week there when we visited France a few years ago) and this summer, we are flying return to Madrid and we will be in Spain for 17 full days.

We enjoy combining city and island…

Moving to Spain from the UK!

My partner and I are looking to move to Southern Spain from London around August 2015. I need some up to date information so that we can cover all our bases. We are currently considering the Malaga area.

  1. Being EU citizens, what conditions do we have to meet to work and live in Spain? I heard somewhere talk of applying for a residencia.

  2. Is it similar to London to rent a property (a previous landlord reference, proof of income and a deposit with 1 month's rent upfront?

  3. For some of the more…

Bus transport from Sevilla to La Linea

I am travelling from Sevilla to La Linea. Anyone know if there is direct bus running between the two places? Or should I transit in Jerez or Algeciras?

Also, can I booked the ticket online? Thank you very much.

Studying spoken Spanish in Spain - any schools that focus on conversation?

I'm currently in Nepal and have found a cheap flight to Barcelona for next month (mid-Feb). My plan is to spend 3 months traveling around Spain and Portugal, and then head on to Mexico/Central America. I will definitely be spending a few weeks in Guatemala studying Spanish, but I thought if I could find a suitable school in Spain, I'd also like to do a few weeks there near the beginning of my time in Spain.

I know there are lots of threads on here and elsewhere about studying Spanish, and…

Seville Football Tickets

Does anyone know if you purchase tickets online (the club website) can they be picked up the day of the game at the stadium? We actually don't arrive in Seville until game day and from what I can see they open online fairly close to the game so I don't want them mailed to me in Canada..(not sure if that is even an option)
TIA
