Hotel Zurbaran
Something of a concrete monster from street level, the four-star Zurbarán is considerably warmer and more attractive within. The majority of the rooms have been tastefully reformed, with lots of dazzling white and soft earth colours.

Look beyond the bland concrete exterior of this 1970s hotel, as the rooms are a pleasant surprise with strong colours, parquet floors, interesting art work and expensively tiled bathrooms.
Look beyond the bland chip marble floors and anaemic colour scheme, as the rooms here are clean and comfortable. Hostal Niza II across the road is basically an overspill with virtually identical decor.
You can't miss the candy floss Modernista exterior of this atmospheric rambling hotel on the corner of a leafy square. Original tilework and green timber are evocative reminders of its former days as a grand private house.
Top value is to be had for good facilities at this superfriendly city-centre hotel. Rooms are a good size, equipped with fridge and safe, and most have a balcony of some sort and plenty of light.
