Hello, We plan to be in Andalucía in February. Our only bookings so far are two days in Cadiz for the carnival, and two days in Gibraltar. Then we would like to centre ourselves in some lovely village from where we can go walking or take day trips by bus. My questions are: Can someone recommend a good place to chose as our spot to settle for a week or so? And is this a good plan, considering the weather in February?
Thank you, Gramme
I've posted here recently but would like some advice about an approximate itinerary. Mostly I'd like feedback from people experienced in these areas for how easy it would be to get from one place to another, whether on train or if a car is better so we could visit countryside and harder to access places. As well, if there's a better order in which to do the itinerary, knowing our plane arrives in Malaga and I was trying to visit inland in March and keep the coast and beach time…
20-30 Dec, renting an estate car in Malaga & planning to sleep in it or stealth camp in a hammock in remoter areas. Main objectives: national parks, hiking, biking, via ferrata. Don’t want to spend much time in big towns; I did a lot of road trips around Spain in the late 80s, but will probably visit a few that I missed and then I’ll stay in hostels: Antequera (also for Torcal & Caminito del Rey – if it’s still possible) & Ronda are on my list. Heading SW, after that, taking the most…
I'm going to be spending between 1-3 months in Fuengirola from January-March 2015, and I need recommendations for sites that list short-term lodging. Are there any sites that work well other than just the standard hotel searches that come up on Google?
Thanks so much!
I'll be travelling Andalucia at the end of the month (November), and will be visiting Madrid, Cordoba and Seville by public transport. After Seville, I'm planning to rent a car for 3 days until my flight home from Malaga.
After almost a week in cities, I'd love to see some scenic nature, but would also like to squeeze Granada into the plan.
The itinerary I thought about is this:
Day 1 (leaving Seville): Gruta de las Maravillas (?), Gibraltar, Ronda (staying in Ronda)
Day 2: Tolcar, Sierra…
What do you think would be better... Go to Barcelona by train in the evening hours or in the morning hours of the next day?
I am planning to stay in Madrid for three days (11/26 - 11/28) and then on Barcelona for three days (11/29 - 12/01) before leaving on 2nd.
Do you think I should depart on evening of 28th to save day/morning of 29th in Barcelona or just depart from Madrid in the morning?
I will be traveling to Portugal and Spain in a week with our friends. After spending time in Portugal, we are planning to take the night train from Lisbon to Madrid and spend there 3 days (with possibly day trip in one of those days).
However, after looking closely into night train travel path (http://www.eurail.com/trains-europe/night-trains/trenhotel-international), I understand that night train goes from Lisbon to Coimbra, then to Salamanca, and then to Madrid. It arrives to Salamanca at…
Hola! A group of us are planning a Gran Canaria adventure in February, namely hiking, climbing and cycling. However there may also be a couple of relaxing days on the itinerary, spending time at the coast. We want to be based somewhere not too busy, but coastal, and with easy access to areas with the outdoor pursuits we are interested in. Can anyone help with ideas? We have travelled widely in the other Canarian islands, but Gran Canaria is new to us. Many thanks!
I wanted to ask about Beneficio a hippie commune in orgiva spain.
I have heard a great stories about it.
How is it there right now ?
What food costs there ?
What would be the minimum budget to get by there ?
Any other info is great.
I am having some challenges putting together the nuts and bolts of my August Honeymoon, and any advice wild be appreciated!
Yup, it has to be August. Already booked (found out after we'd have to brave the high season).
Plan is: 1) fly to Barcelona then Mallorca, (rent car) spend 3 nights on inland farm inn by Fornalutz.
2. Fly back and train to Girona for 2 nights. Explore Girona for a day then
3. wake up, pick up rental, and tour Besalu for the day, ending up at La Bisbal at a…
