This vast and ambitious 21st-century cultural centre is being constructed atop Monte Gaiás, about 1.5km southeast of the old city, to the designs of American Peter Eisenman. The first sections, the Library and Archive of Galicia, were expected to open in late 2010, with the Museum of Galicia following in 2011.

    Probably not worth a visit just yet!!

    shredward does not recommend this,

    I went to the city of culture, in mid october 2011, and currently there is still a lot of work to be done before it is complete. At the moment the only exhibition is one on typewriters, and the library is lacking many books, a bit of an oversight perhaps. I would check before you visit this to see if work has finished, I think you might have to wait a while?
