Lonely Planet review

The 13th-century Palau dels Marquesos de Llió (which underwent repeated alterations into the 18th century) is temporary home to part of the city’s Disseny (Design) Hub collection of applied arts – this is where it has its temporary exhibitions, study galleries and activities.

Often the exhibition on the ground floor is free, while the more extensive 1st-floor exhibition is what you pay for (admission includes entry to both locations). The permanent collections of Disseny are housed in the Palau Reial de Pedralbes and the new building, scheduled for completion in 2013, will be in Plaça de les Glòries. The building’s courtyard, with its cafe-restaurant, makes a delightful stop.
